Photography for my magazine

What is Photography?

Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating everlasting images by recording light. There are several types of photography such as fashion, street, still, and more. Photographers all have their focus and interest. For example, some photographers such as Andrew D. Bernstein is a sports photographer. He captures players through their action on the field or court.

For my magazine, there are not specific photographers who focus on influential people. Therefore, I decided to study photography that is similar and capture people in their act of helping. The following are the kinds of photography that can be used for my magazine.

  • Portrait: captures personality of an individual or group by presentation.  It gives the audience a meaning through the model face, costumes, make-up, and background.

  • Still Life: arrangements are made such as lightning to give a message. It is commonly used for small groups of objects.

  • Sports: captures athletes  through their plays (action). It can shoot pictures of sporting events as well. It is used to promote athletes, teams, and corporations.

  • Fine Art : gives a message, or emotion by using the photographer as an artist.

  • Aerial: capture pictures from using flying objects. It is mainly used to capture the environment/lands.

I used a light brown to go with my color scheme and the background of my cover image.  I was inspired by many magazines  such as “Essence” and “Ebony” that used bold letters to attract their audience.  As I went through the processes of creating my product, my theme was “professionalism”. I want my model to have a very neat appearance and a leader demonor. Therefore, I wanted to have the office background to show the professional setting. My magazine consisted of cover lines...
