Contents Page Anaylsis

A content page in a magazine introduces the reader to the topics and features that will be presented throughout the magazine. The following are the contents page  conventions which all introduces and have it own importance to the page. 

   Main  Conventions : 

  • Contents Title : the biggest font compared to the rest of the page. It captures the audience attention. It may include the masthead from the previous page, ( the cover page ).  
  • Main image: this  graphic can be related to the feature article or the cover page image. It captures the audience attention with through the different features within the image such as 'dark eyes' on a model. 
  • Main Categories: these are what catches the audience attentions. It tells the readers what the magazine will be including. 
  • Sublines : more details on what is going to be presented in the magazine. For example, in a sports magazine, the sublines include details about energy drinks or exercises. This can be found in small text on the cover page. 
  • Color scheme : it uses similar colors to the covers page so it may link together with the cover page which also makes the auidence more comfortable.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - Inspiration

  American Baptist minister and  civil rights activist known as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. , became known as one of the  most African American  influential individuals in history. King was born January 15, 1929 and assassinated April 4, 1968.  King's main target was equality and human rights for African Americans. King’s non-violent boycotts, protests, and marches  were all successful for racial discrimation in America. King was known for his beneficial speeches. One of King's most famous speeches is “I Have A Dream '' speech. This speech focused on the end of racial inequality in America. Although King was arrested plenty of times for the changes he wanted to make, this did not stop him. King was encouraged to his legacy.
