What are the three angles in the AICE syllabus?
- High angle
- Low angle
- Canted/Dutch angle
High angles: looks down on the character/person in the film.
High angles make the character to be insignificant. they are commonly used to draw the audience in. It can make they audience to feel "motherly". They convey many themes, mood, and tension throughout the film.
Low angle : looks up on the character/person in the film
Low angles give the character a 'superior' view. In a film, low angle convey's power however there are times the power can be good or bad. They can give the audience different meanings on characters such as showing the character development.
Canted/Dutch angle: camera is being 'rotated'. The camera is tilted at an angle.
Canted/ dutch angle causes the audience to have sense of tension or unease.
